Low-code is a visual solution to developing applications.

Low-code helps developers with varying skill levels to build web and smartphone apps, using drag-and-drop components and model-driven logic using a graphical user interface. Low-code development platforms prevent non-technical developers from having to write code while helping to assist experienced developers by abstracting the tedious plumbing and infrastructure processes needed to build applications.

Working together, business and IT developers create, iterate, and release applications in a fraction of the time that traditional methods require. This development of a low-code development application platform allows a full range of app types to be produced for disparate use cases. These types of apps vary from updating legacy devices to IoT-enabled intelligent apps.

What is a low-code development platform?

A low-code development platform (LCDP) is software that provides a development environment using graphical user interfaces and configuration instead of traditional hand-coded computer programming to create software for the application. In conjunction with model-driven logic, a low-code architecture enables developers with varying skill levels to build apps using a visual user interface.

These platforms can develop applications that are entirely operational or need additional coding for different circumstances. Low-code development platforms minimize the amount of conventional hand-coding so that enterprise apps can be distributed more easily. A common benefit is that a wider array of people can contribute to the development of the application — not just those with formal programming abilities. Also, LCDPs can lower initial setup, training, deployment, and maintenance costs.

Why is low-code development important?

Low-code app development platforms enable collaboration between developers, industry analysts, and experts on the subject. It significantly benefits companies as rework is substantially reduced, and cost overruns are largely avoided. The linear method to modern models to software production offers major incentives to reduce redundancy and to achieve fast forward. Low-code platforms streamline and speed up development and delivery processes, achieving significant IT backlog reduction.

Whenever companies have a mandate to modernize, CIOs have a big challenge in managing current tools with outdated technology expertise along with key business process awareness. But with low-code platforms, with their unique approach to visual development, CIOs get an opportunity to reuse their existing resources and modernize legacy projects without any problems. Today, consumers and employees want to be able to access apps from multiple platforms, putting extra pressure on developers. Low-code development platforms with modern frameworks can deliver consumer-grade applications at a fraction of the cost, using enterprise-grade technology.

Industries that are progressively adopting the low-code development platform technology:

Banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI)

Banking transformation is moving ahead at a steady pace. The landscape of the banking sector is changing at a record-breaking pace. Competitors introduce new products and services every day which radically changes the playing field for late technology adopters. Banks need to adopt a strategy and technology platform that empowers them to respond to those changes in the market. Banks will be able to introduce their new goods in a couple of days.

Low-code development platforms allow the banks to do just that. They can speed up production times for new applications which is an enormous competitive advantage in the ever-evolving FSS area. Low Code Platforms empower business users with the utmost ease to create prototypes, workflows, user experience, etc. The involvement of business users in the development process ensures minimal iterations after having made a living of applications.

Healthcare

Medical SEO services will help build mobile healthcare organizations applications that allow streamlined treatments to be provided and quality patient care ensured. Apps will be established in the healthcare industry, bearing in mind secrecy, protection, and enforcement together with the clear aims of the program. They are designed to fit clinician unique specifications.

You don't have to create applications from scratch for low-code app development as these solutions provide users with the appropriate resources and models. Services such as mobile support, portability, app performance, and interoperability also have to be offered by the low code app development platform. The app developed must be seamlessly integrated with the health IT systems and other major applications.

Retail & eCommerce

The retail sector experiences a fluctuation in consumer habits every year, both offline and online. By providing retailers with a platform to build low-code functions that are quicker, more sustainable, and have faster evaluation times, merchants can overcome the competition. Low-code development platforms provide marketers with the potential to develop new features quicker and at a much-reduced cost, and the performance of innovations can be measured more efficiently.

Retailers who follow this practice are willing to rapidly and riskily evaluate new ideas in changing market conditions. Accelerated application development shortens time-to-market–in some cases 10 times as compared to traditional packages. Retailers will now remove the riches from their heritage and use low-code to make a quantum leap forward in digitizing their industry in a fast, scalable, and cost-effective fashion, which means they can remain important to customers.

To sum up

The low-code platform development market is a horizon of opportunities for both programmers and non-programmers to design and build all types of apps from simple handy utility apps to full-blown enterprise resource management systems, and everything in between. Extra care should be taken to ensure that the specification follows the specifications when creating low-code applications because there is no team behind the curtain to secretly detect and correct frequent errors that are frequently created in general software design.

That being said, low-code is an excellent choice when used properly for anyone who requires custom software but lacks the skill (or budget) to build a traditional application. Application Development and Delivery (AD&D) has been a very complicated matter for organizations to solve. Conventional methods of developing and delivering apps – complex, cost-ineffective, and time consuming – have failed to meet the needs of the new-age customer.

Free Valuable Insights: Global Low-Code Development Platform Market to reach a market size of USD 46.4 billion by 2026

The demands of modern applications are unparalleled in the age of the customer. Content Services is based in the cloud, therefore, it ensures that the businesses are addressing the changing the compliance requirements along with remaining cost-effective and scalable. Content services are a set of services and micro services that are personified either as a combined product suite or as an individual application which has common APIs and repositories. These content services are meant to achieve a diverse content type and to serve numerous constituencies and use cases across an enterprise.

What is Content Services Platform?

Content services is a platform which can be assumed as the cloud-based SaaS software which further allows users to produce, share, collaborate on and store text, audio, and video content. These technologies are relatively new terms in gaining acceptance as a beneficiary to an enterprise content management (ECM) software. ECM and Content Services Platforms aim to resolve the challenges of enterprise content management, nevertheless, their approach to achieving these goals is very different.

Showcasing the emerging and dynamic nature of content services, the change from enterprise content management vendors to content services platforms and components, deviates the attention from ECM’s self-contained storage of content to actively using the content all across the content services platforms. This relies widely on multiple open services which are interrelated and work collaboratively to properly understand how content can be used internally and externally for creation, collaboration and distribution of information enterprise-wide.

Why do we need the content services platform?

Content services platform enables the organizations to understand the value of the content and data which is accessible to them. Instead of separating the content in a separate repository, where this becomes inconvenient in accessing it, these services have a developed approach in connection with people, processes, and content across all the organizations along with their suppliers, customers, and other business partners.

Content services software facilitates companies to deliver the correct content to the correct person at the correct time. Users may access and interact with the content that they require from within the application which they utilize through tailored workspaces. The major content services platforms allow for low-code or no-code improvement of plug-ins which can decouple the users’ experience from the underlying content repository. The user may have access to personalized and dynamic content in relation to the context of the applications which are used by them regularly.

Application of Content Services Platform in Emerging Industries:

Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance

The banking sector is one of the most regulated industries. As there are numerous regulatory compliances that the BFSI organizations have to adhere with. The banking industry happens to be the one which has witnessed several cyber-attacks recently. The BFSI industry generates large volumes of enterprise content from their day to day operations. The service vendors have a tendency of providing solutions and services on the basis of uniform best-practice processes to improve data security and decrease operating costs along with efficiently audit-compliant processes in observation of all relevant regulations.

Government and Public Sector

Digital Design System (DDS) is a set of ideologies which offers leadership and support for government digital transformation efforts. Initiation of these principles demands for investment in the appropriate types of tools and platforms. DDS is a practice that has agile and repeatable components which are environment-friendly and further boosts the sharing of skills and data. Agencies look ahead to leverage DDS which again explores the content services with findings in philosophy and capabilities that allows their investments to achieve digital services and practices. Content services demonstrate the capabilities to meet the needs and handle the processes that drive government processes, services and programs.

Healthcare and Life Sciences

In a clinical context, while numerous electronic medical/health records (EMR/EHR) manage an organized content, even the seamless systems cannot be managed in unorganized data such as paper documents, faxes, photos, images, and rich multi-media data contents which are generated across the care setting. In the non-clinical context, where ECM solutions complement operational, administrative, and financial information systems in a healthcare enterprise by making the end users to proficiently aggregate, store, and manage diverse content which is further generated across the enterprises.

Click Here For Free Insights: https://www.kbvresearch.com/news/content-services-platforms-market/

Emerging Trends and Challenges in Technology:

Social media, mobile, analytics, and cloud (SMAC) convergence are one of the most powerful trends for both consumers and enterprises across industry verticals. Companies include SMAC driven marketing plans for minimizing the expenses along with preserving resources. Also, the efficient use of analytical tools makes it suitable for enterprises to measure returns from each campaign. The growth realization is a result of leveraging SMAC, which not only generates a better market situation but at the same time, it leads to improved entrepreneurial initiatives. SMAC majorly supports the evolution of corporates and the growth of SMEs, besides implicating business growth. So the adoption of SMAC’s drives the market for Content Services Platforms Market.

Privacy of data and images majorly includes few concerns about making sure that an individual data is not available automatically to any individual or an organization where the people can exercise a substantial degree of control over that data and its usage. For one thing, big data breaches escalate the risk possibilities. Secondly, the more the information, the more personal or sensitive information it can contain. Areas where sources of information vary, allowing multiple opportunities for penetration. Finally, the distribution of computed data, which is the sole way of processing the massive quantity of big data, opens up further with opportunities for data breaches. Privacy concern in relation to contents, images, etc. are hampering the growth of content services platform industry.

The bottom line

The growth in content services platform market is simultaneous, which gives an enhancement to the demand for services. The Global Content Services Platform Market is being estimated to emerge as a market growth of 19.4% CAGR over the forecast period.

2018 GRC Market Report Emphasizes New Risk Trends: Reputation, Regulations, and Innovationhttps://globalriskcommunity.com/profiles/blogs/2018-grc-market-report-emphasizes-new-risk-trends-reputation2018-03-20T15:31:32.000Z2018-03-20T15:31:32.000ZSteven Minskyhttps://globalriskcommunity.com/members/StevenMinsky

The Forrester Wave™: Governance, Risk, and Compliance Platforms, Q1 2018 evaluates and ranks the 14 most significant GRC platforms available, and LogicManager has been named a Leader! But beyond measuring the current offering, strategy, and market presence of GRC providers, the report also dives into the current risk climate.

As the report states, “Managing risk is more important than it’s ever been.” In support of this statement, the report points to three growing trends in the corporate world: reputation, regulatory fines, and disruptive business models.

We’ll explore these trends shortly, but I believe the single most pervasive trend which encapsulates all three of these is that of the see-through economy. The increasing adoption of social media and advanced technologies have granted consumers and investors multiple platforms to express their expectations of the companies they choose to do business with.

With these platforms centrally contained in one easily accessible device, consumers are empowered to record and disseminate any message they want, from a good customer experience, to a horrible one. The bottom line is the general public has the power to monumentally impact a company’s reputation.

What does this mean for businesses?

It means they need better governance, heightened oversight, and advanced risk management infrastructures in order to stay ahead of this omnibus trend pervading the business world.

Corporate Reputations at Risk in Today’s See-Through Economy

The first trend the 2018 GRC market report points to is the increasing importance of a corporation’s reputation. The report reads, “Corporate reputations are at risk. The hit to their reputation after a mishap, and the ensuing loss of customers and other stakeholders, damaged companies more than any other category of loss.”

I have often gone to great lengths to bring attention to the reputational consequences of a scandal. United Airlines reached a settlement with Dr. Dao, the man they dragged off one of their flights. But the amount paid in this settlement is likely nothing compared to the reputational damage the airline incurred.

The see-through economy has a specific connection to this scandal. With 66,000 passengers involuntarily bumped from United flights in 2016 alone, it would be naïve to assume this is the first time this situation escalated to conflict. In truth, this was the first incident caught on tape, or rather, caught on smartphone.

United’s market value plummeted by $1 billion the following day, proving that reputation is a huge concern for shareholders. And while their value has slowly risen since the incident, there is no denying that customers and competing airlines have taken note of this mishap and are expecting better.

The benefit of GRC platforms in regard to this trend is their ability to integrate and account for reputational risk across silos.

Regulatory Fines Are Climbing Higher and Higher

The second trend the 2018 GRC market report addresses is increasing regulatory fines. The report states, “With the uncertain regulatory landscape, managing compliance is becoming a challenge for most risk managers.”

I have also used the word “uncertain” to describe the current regulatory environment. As I saw the presidential administration decentralize regulations, I predicted states would take it upon themselves to enforce new regulations. In early February, the Wall Street Journal published this headline: “States Look at Establishing Their Own Health Insurance Mandates: Congressional repeal of Obamacare’s individual mandates leaves a number of lawmakers examining replacement measures.” The same pattern of new state regulations has occurred on topics like corporate pollution in June 2017, net neutrality rules in March 2018, and cyber violations in September 2017.

The see-through economy has a connection to this trend, as well. Compliance is more than a check-box exercise. It’s a reflection on the company’s ability to meet the needs, demands, and rights of their consumers. States will jump as quickly as they can to impose new regulations that fade from federal view in honor of protecting their consumers, who have made their expectations clear through digital open forum.

This uncertainty, that is, the uncertainty of new regulations coming from multiple angles, necessitates the adoption of GRC platforms with robust change management capabilities.

Innovation Is the Root Cause of New Risk

The third trend the GRC market report explores is innovation. It claims, “Disruptive business models are introducing new risks.”

Many of the scandals I’ve taken the time to study and write about it in 2017 have fallen victim to material risks inherent to their own innovative business models.

Chipotle is a poignant example of this trend. Since the fall of 2015, the fast-food chain has been the cause of multiple outbreaks of foodborne illness across the U.S. While the restaurant has pointed the finger at sick employees and earnestly claimed the isolated nature of these incidents, it’s clear they did not assess the risks associated with their latest innovation: fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

With a decentralized business model, they now have 1,000 or so points of food sourcing and contamination whereas typical centralized systems have a fraction of that.

GRC platforms assist organizations assess the risk of innovation, centralize or decentralize controls as needed, and implement monitoring at the activity level.

The see-through economy is deeply ingrained in this trend, as well. When a myriad of voices ring out to call foul on one company, the systemic nature of a problem is revealed. The repeated offenses by Chipotle and many other innovative companies have been called out by millions of consumers with the hope that the “it’s a one-time thing” excuse will no longer be an option.

The Future of GRC Adoption

As with any problem, there may be a tendency to look at these trends and feel like the cards are stacked against corporations these days. But while the business world has become increasingly transparent and uncertain, there is an entire industry that has taken heed of these trends and is developing platforms to help companies overcome them and even use them to their advantage.

It’s all about improving bottom line performance and goal achievement. I believe the trends outlined in this GRC market report will continue to grow until GRC platforms are ubiquitous across industries of all shapes and sizes, which if you ask me, is an extremely hopeful message. Corporations and industry analysts and even COSO is finally agreeing with what we’ve been saying since 2006: ERM/GRC helps organizations achieve better business performance.

With the proper oversight and infrastructure, companies can act with integrity, serve their customers well, and carry out their missions successfully.

Read The Forrester Wave™: Governance, Risk, and Compliance Platforms, Q1 2018 here!

This article was originally posted on LogicManager.com.
