Blue Cross is a Not-for-Profit Animal Welfare Charity, whose main focus is to help sick, injured and homeless pets. All of Blue Cross services aim to help needy pets, and their owners, and to encourage and promote kindness to animals by providing information and education. Services include Rehoming, Clinical, Behaviour, Education and Pet bereavement.
There are thousands of abandoned or unwanted, ill or injured, pets who need Blues Cross`s support every year. The 2021 vision is to double the amount of pets you support, double your income and treble public awareness.
Job Description
The work will support the Board of Trustees' and Executive Team's objective of ensuring a sound system of risk management and business resilience in order to help grow the charity's business. Blue Cross is also undertaking a number of change initiatives and the need to ensure the effective management of risk in a changing environment is an important element of the successful delivery of those programmes - this position will play a key role in that regard.
The work will bring you into regular contact with executive and senior managers and the ability to influence and engage effectively with these audiences is a key aspect of this post. This is a leadership position that will provide clear direction to colleagues in living the charity's values, setting appropriate behaviours and acting ethically and with integrity in both their own work and when working with others. In addition, the ability to deliver the responsibilities of this post through a positive business partnering approach is a fundamental requirement, so that the value of risk management and business continuity is promoted and understood across the charity.
The Successful Applicant
The post holder should be a risk management/business continuity professional with a proven track record. They must have a strong business management approach to the work of the charity and its activities and be able to understand the needs of key stakeholders, both internal and external.
