I’m a seasoned Country CEO/ Chief Risk Officer/ Regional Credit Director/ Head of Governance - a resourceful corporate banker - currently based in the Middle-East - with a history of effective risk and business judgments in growing and challenging emerging markets - largely in Asia, over many years with top tier International Banks - RBS and Deutsche Bank, and currently with Doha Bank, a major bank in oil/ gas rich Qatar. I now intend to relocate to the UK at the end of Q1, 2011, and seek challenging Non-Executive Director roles, where my track record in key areas - delivering strong, flexible and effective risk management and building corporate governance and transparency, combined with driving business strategies which proved highly effective in challenging markets in turbulent times, would enable me to add real value. My record demonstrates strength and foresight in assessing, structuring and balancing risks and opportunities effectively, while delivering returns on assets and capital that outperformed our peers. On-going volatility will continue to create new opportunities and challenges, which will drive the need for change. My strong solution oriented background - honed and proven through exposure to diverse markets - would bring real benefit to Board oversight of strategic issues, risk and governance, and in addressing issues with regulators. Additionally, my exposure to rapidly growing developing markets, particularly in the Middle-East and India - both of which present a unique and challenging mix of opportunities and pitfalls - would bring fresh perspectives to the table. I could also add considerable value as a NED in cases where major players from these locations have formed UK based subsidiary Boards. I’m good with people - culturally aware, good humoured, collegiate and open minded - and with the confidence and credibility to question the status quo when deliberating the most effective approach to critical issues. I'm flexible and open to exploring opportunities where I can contribute. Location of companies is not an issue - working harmoniously and effectively with International businesses, both as employers and as clients, represents a major part of my experience.
