I'm a professor and chair of the doctor of communication program of the University of the Philippines - Open University. Formerly UPOU vice chancellor for research and development, I was the first dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies serving two terms (2004 to 2010). I chaired the Technical Committee for Alternative Learning Systems of the Commission on Higher Education and held the University of the Philippines Centennial Professorial Chair sponsored by SEAMEO SEARCA during the University's 100th year. I served as professor (Strategic Communication) at the University of the Philippines Los Baños College of Development Communication and visiting professor of development communication at Kasetsart University.
