I currently work in Intelligence Operations supporting the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (OUSD[I]). I have a diverse background that includes experience in All Source Intelligence Analysis, Human Terrain/ Socio-Cultural Analysis, and Criminal Intelligence and Law Enforcement Operations. The focus of my work has centered on geo-political risk analysis, fused multi-source intelligence products, and predictive pattern analysis. Areas of specialization include terrorism and security in the Horn of Africa, specifically in Somalia; the relationship between Islam and democracy in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region, particularly in the Arab Gulf states; and the effects of perception (from media) and tribal relations in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region. I have a BA in History and a MA in Strategic Intelligence, Middle Eastern Studies, and Terrorism. I speak fluent French and basic Arabic, and I have recently begun studying Somali. I have lived abroad and traveled independently to more than 25 countries across five continents to pursue a combination of academic, language, and cultural studies. This has culminated in a unique combination of language skills, cultural knowledge, boots-on-the-ground international experience, and analytic and academic strengths that make me an exceptional asset to any organization. I am interested in exploring the opportunities that may be available to me within the political risk community.
