I am a director of a consulting company specialising in Risk Management, Business Contiuity and Emergency planning. My range of experience covers advertising, teaching, working with the Foreign Office, emergency and risk management. I holds a BA Honours degree and Diploma in Management as well as an MBE received in 1991. I have completed the OGC Management of Risk Practitioner course and am a member of the UK Emergency Planning Society. I have headed the risk management service for a large local authority and have significant experience in business continuity and emergency planning, health and safety and insurance. I also chaired a local resilience forum support group for four years and pioneered a major regional resilience project involving the UK Cabinet Office as a key stakeholder. I have been a speaker at many professional conferences including the International Swine Flu Conference held in London in March 2010 and provided interim management support to an overseas organisation following the unexpected loss of its managing director. I have also developed emergency planning training programmes for a number of unitary authorities.
