I have spent more than 10 years in the mining industry, managing projects, maintenance and strived to improve equipment and productivity. Mining projects included building and establishing a new incline shaft to surface(this consisted of high speed development, conveyors, crushers, surface offices and workshops).The more than ten years in the Petrochemical industry and the Oil and Gas industry, Managing projects and making sure that risks were properly identified and mitigated took me to more than 25 countries. Liaison and negotiations with contractors, suppliers, governments, NGO’s was part of being a global player. I have at various stages been involved in compiling budgets and managing them successfully. I also at stages was responsible for compiling rolling capital budgets and their motivation and management. I have made a video that finally convinced the Board to approve a strip cut mine. Managing projects from concept, through basic and final engineering design to construction was part of my experience (EPC, EPCM) I have managed projects in the Petrochemical, Oil and Gas and mining sectors. I have trained senior managers to understand risk management and thus resulted in good business building the company brand name. I was also solving business problems successfully as a business consultant. I have attended various International seminars and have also done presentations at three. I achieved my Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 1983 and done a Business Leadership programme at University of South Africa and Gibbs. I applied at PMC after I decided not to work overseas anymore and did not want to move out of the Hoedspruit’s Big Five Belt as it is called. My position overseas was at senior management level (attending board meetings). I currently work for PMC in Phalaborwa, South Africa
