Before forming Liability Program Management, John M. Beringer Jr. established Beringer & Associates. Since January of 2000, B&A has held positions as CEO/President of Plexus Total Risk Management, Inc.; as a Licensed Senior Director of an SPC captive, Creative Solutions SPC (Cayman); and served clients with the formation of JPJ Reinsurance SPC and AB Lexman SPC. In 2012, Mr. Beringer designed/wrote an insurance policy approved by the Oklahoma Department of Insurance for domestic and international commodity transactions. Mr. Beringer held the position of JPA Liability Program Manager for ICRMA and BICEP. In the 19 years since opening B&A, he served clients with significant case handling for exposures through his client's self-insured retention through reinsurance’s attachment, usually $30.0 million, to final result of the exposure in both United States and international venues. Previous to the formation of B&A, Mr. Beringer was employed by Specialty Risk Services directing litigation on behalf of Twin City Fire Insurance Company and Hartford Fire Insurance Company. Employment in the insurance carrier industry started in 1969, working for the Automobile Club of Southern California, Industrial Indemnity, Great American, and Western International Insurance Company. While the specific list of clients is confidential, the clientele included Fortune 500 companies, various municipalities in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Arizona, and individually owned companies. Well, over 30,000 litigated cases were resolved by the efforts of Mr. Beringer in his professional capacities.

Dear John

Apologies for the late reply J. I am the Director ERM in the office of the Premier in the Western Cape – South Africa. I have just moved from the private sector to the public sector and the ‘transformation’ to ‘servant leadership’ is worth a book.

I love my career in enterprise risk management and the fact that I am now able to serve my country is an honour. It is easy to sit back and criticize and quite another to serve with the genuine intention to add value.

Although the greater part of my work is confidential there are always common models and ERM applications worth sharing. I trust that our interaction will be of some value.

I have spend time in the energy (electricity distribution) field; engineering and construction and the mining industry
