The office in Colombia has net sales of USD 4.2 million and assets in value of USD 1.6 million (Year 2007). My responsibilities encompassed maintaining and cultivating customer relations, businesses renewal, widening these relations and ensuring corporate accounts’ satisfaction in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. I was responsible for directing y managing sales strategies, supporting the sales team with the support of the technical area for the development of projects, and supporting prices definition and the planning of proposals that promoted customer satisfaction, in order to achieving positive end results for a constant growth of the company. On August 2007 these responsibilities where extended to Venezuela also. With 7 employees under my supervision. Accomplishments:  I reviewed and adjusted the operating structure for the finance & administration department of the Colombia office, adjusting the quantity of employees, their assigned functions and the office’s operational expenses, thereby freeing budget for marketing and branding activities.  I negotiated the legal and financial terms & conditions with the office’s major customers, achieving a 50% growth in billing and over 400% in annual sales quota attainment.  I leaded the SAP implementation for CA in Colombia as well as the implementation of a new local accounting system, achieving a 50% time reduction in the monthly accounting close.  I leaded for Colombia and supported for Venezuela the implementation of an accounting outsourcing under PwC, and actively participated in the centralization of various administrative, accounting and financial processes under a Shared Services Center for Latin America.  I improved internal controls through the identification of operational weaknesses and the corresponding procedures update in all areas, in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. My responsibilities encompassed the administration of all accounting matters from IBM in Colombia (USGAAP & Colombian GAAP). With 14 employees under my supervision. Accomplishments:  I diminished over a 2 years period the assigned staff base for the Accounting department in 45%, adjusting the department’s operating structure and in doing so improving from 65% to 100% tasks and controls fulfillment, as defined by Corporate Accounting.  I updated the procedures and internal controls of the Accounting department for achieving a 100% compliance of Corporate Accounting requirements.  I leaded the reduction of unreconciled items in 99%, both in quantity of items and in absolute values (substantial improvement in the department’s performance indicators).  I leaded the improvement in control and reconciliation of all booking accounts, going from 65% to 100% coverage and reducing from 3,600 to 860 usable booking accounts.  I implemented the methodology and leaded the financial analysis of the company for the Director’s Council, improving the quality and content of the required supports for corporate reporting.  I participated in the review and adjustment of the employee benefits policies, including the company car policy, thereby improving the employee retention rates.  I developed the structure of the financial lease offer of ATM’s for a local bank, by selling the receivables non-recourse to a third party. My responsibilities encompassed the financial strategy, strategic planning, and strategic marketing, as well as representing Siemens Financial Services in the Andean Region. With 4 employees under my supervision. Accomplishments:  I designed the objectives and tasks of the Andean Strategic Planning Department and the Andean Strategic Marketing Department.  I developed the financial and legal structure of a new revenue sharing project regarding security technology.  I successfully structured and negotiated with customers and financial entities over USD 30 million in financing Siemens solutions for diverse business fronts. March 1998 – February 2000 (2 years) Bogota, Colombia Siemens S.A. is one of the 50 largest companies in Colombia, with 1,475 employees and net sales of USD 101.9 million and assets in value of USD 103.1 million (Year 1999). My responsibilities encompassed the administration of the financial matters from Siemens in Colombia (treasury, payments, credit & accounts receivable, project finance for the Andean Region). With 16 employees under my supervision. Accomplishments:  I designed and implemented a new collection methodology of past due account receivables, achieving a significant improvement on the company’s account receivables ratios which showed a reduction in past due account receivables from 26% to 8% and in uncollectable receivables from 10% to less than 3% thereby limiting the company’s credit risk exposure.  I defined and implemented the procedure for risk control of foreign exchange exposure, both for the company’s cash positions as well as for various specific projects, attaining a reduction beyond 90% of the foreign exchange exposure risk resulting from the daily operation.  I updated and adjusted the Finance department procedures in order to achieving a better processes control and improvements in the response times.  I implemented the electronic payments system ACH for the payment of local vendors (over 1,500 payment transactions per month for approximately 1,600 vendors).  I participated in the SAP implementation Project for the Andean Region, supporting the definition of various policies within the system.  I designed and implement a private bidding process for the selection, negotiation and hiring of a new in-house bank.  I developed and implemented the forecast, follow-up and control procedure of the company’s cash flow management.  I successfully structured and negotiated with customers and financial entities over USD 200 million in financing Siemens solutions for diverse business fronts.
