Mid-career professional with practical government and international development consulting experience in energy/extractive industries; economic development; and external relations and advocacy strategies in developed, transitioning, emerging and post-conflict markets. Have worked globally in project management, technical consultancy and business development to help grow economies, meet competitiveness challenges and alleviate poverty. Have also held senior advocacy and external affairs, communications and strategic policy and analysis positions. Have worked for multilateral institutions (i.e., World Bank; UNHABITAT, UNDP); finance institutions; Blue-chip companies (i.e., Microsoft); Canadian governments focussing on downstream/value-add of energy and extractive industries; consulting to Moscow and sub-regional Russian governments on socio-economic reform and sector growth (oil and gas, agriculture); and to provincial/local Chinese governments on oil and gas industry diversification strategies and international marketing for FDI. Most recently was a Principal Consultant for a UK consulting firm focussing on reconstruction strategies and economic recovery in Iraq, Poverty Evaluations in Sub-Saharan Africa, business development for extractive industries in Mongolia; and sustainable finance/risk evaluation (e.g., Equator, UNEP, UNPRI) to the finance sector. My diverse regional and project experience provides solid exposure to the government/business interface on a global, multi-cultural and multi-sectoral basis. In 2009, I completed a Master in International Relations and Security focussing on changes in the global geopolitical system. Specifically, new forms of crisis/conflict, conflict analysis and resolution, conflict regions, energy/food security, organized crime, terrorist financing, corruption, international humanitarian and security law, and threat/risk perception. The program is partnership with French defence institutions (Saint-Cyr military school and Navy Centre d’Etudes Supérieur) exhibiting public/private decision-making in defence/security.
