I am a recent university graduate with a dual degree in Politics and Russian Studies. My interest in Russia began during my freshman year when I took a Russian language course. I fell in love and continued to expand my knowledge of Russian history, politics, literature and language through coursework as well as extracurricular activities, including participation in Russian language theater and informal Russian clubs. My junior year I spent a semester abroad in Moscow, and during my senior year I interned at the US-Ukraine Foundation while studying in Washington D.C. With the aid of several professors I designed a curriculum for a Russian Studies major, and completed the major by researching and writing a thesis on the rise and decline of a major political party in post-communist Russia. Since graduation I have maintained my knowledge of Russian with independent study and through conversations with native speakers online. I try to keep up with current affairs and would be happy to discuss any topic with new people. I recently moved to New York City and am currently looking to begin a career that would build on my experience with Russian language, culture and history, as well as my interest in international politics. I would also like to better understand how businesses form and grow and would like to incorporate this into my career. http://www.linkedin.com/in/ldenicola
