My name is Usman Khan and I am a Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA Hons) graduate from Institute of Business Management (IoBM), (www.iobm.edu.pk) with majors in Finance. I have passed CFA Level I exam and now I am preparing for CFA Level II exam which would take place in June 2015. As per my work experience I have worked at Magnus Investment Advisors as first level portfolio manager for provident, pensions and gratuity funds amounting to more than PKR 7 billion (approx USD 70 million or Euro 56 million). These funds consist of discretionary and non-discretionary portfolios alike. My clients are GSK, Pakistan Tobacco (subsidiary of British American Tobacco) and Engro (Post-MBO of EXXON Mobil Pakistan). After working as a portfolio manager I have made my mind that I want to pursue my career in firms which are linked and actively involved in the international capital markets as well as financial services. The dynamic and challenging environment that pushes on their very limits and the diversified level of investment management as well as huge potential of broadening one's skill sets is far more in the firms which are prestigious players in the international markets rather than a firm operating in an overly restrictive and still evolving financial sector. For this very reason and to stay connected with the international financial services industry I am an avid reader of The Financial Times and The Economist as well. Also to keep myself updated I follow Bloomberg and Thomsen Reuters. I am deeply impressed by the level farsightedness of these and aspire to have such talent. I have also gained diverse set of skills through brief yet extensive work experience which include keen eye for detail, financial modeling through complex array formulae in MS Excel, operating Bloomberg terminal, deep understanding of financial analysis, risk measurement, hedging, diversification in investments, interpreting and projecting anticipated results of monetary policy and streamlining the fixed income securities accordingly. I am very flexible with any working conditions either in group or on individual basis, have excellent MS Excel skills as I am familiar with complex array formula structures, have no issues with working late hours and am willing to relocate anywhere on the globe as per the requirement of the work. I am looking eagerly for a career in international capital markets or financial services sector be it any level of job from investment analysis/management to treasury and FX.
