Mr. Radu Demian is currently the Manager of Corporate Risk Management at University Hospitals (UH) in Cleveland, Ohio. He has over 15 years of business experience, with 12 years dedicated to risk management and insurance. Previously, he worked in the futures and options brokerage industry as well as in customs brokerage. Mr. Demian joined UH in 2008, where he is responsible for the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, all the commercially placed insurance programs, as well as underwriting and various other responsibilities related to the company’s wholly owned insurance subsidiary. Prior to UH, he was the Risk Manager for the City of Windsor, Canada, being responsible for the corporate insurance program and ERM. Previously, he was a Branch Manager for a European insurer. Mr. Demian earned the following degrees, designations and certifications: Master in Business Administration (MBA) – Finance concentration from the University of Windsor; Master in Municipal Management (MMM) from York University, Toronto; Master of Science in Computers (MSc) and Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) from Lucian Blaga University; Canadian Risk Management (CRM) professional designation from GRMI/RIMS; Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Certified Member; Community Leadership Professional Development Certificate from Leadership Windsor/Essex & University of Windsor. He is a long standing member of the Risk Management Society (RIMS) and is currently serving on the RIMS ERM Committee.
