Copy from LinkedIn: Investment Analysis, Clean Energy For a couple of years now I have refocused my professional interests towards clean energy, particularly the investment side of it. My interests range from the venture stage to public equities. Why did I change my focus? I believe we are in the early stage of a mega trend and a distinct new economic theme - the transition to a low carbon economy. The key element in this trend is the transformation of our energy system. I believe renewable energy sources and clean energy technologies will be the long term winner in most energy systems. The imperative to tackle climate change and energy security issues may also be, in my view, the economic and investment opportunity of our lifetime. That’s the basic foundation for my further exploration of the different technologies, their costs and risk profiles. In assessments of the commercial viability for different technologies an understanding of the supply and demand dynamics of traditional energy like oil, natural gas and coal, is needed, as is knowledge about the policy and incentives as the key catalyst for clean energy in the coming years. When assessing clean energy investments, I believe, there is a big need to evaluate risk and consider the considerable uncertainty both in markets and policy, and still pay keen attention to the enormous market opportunities that clean energy technologies presents. I now seek positions and/or engagements where I can contribute with my passion for these areas.
