Defense Policy Analyst with Subject Matter Expertise of NATO organization, planning and policy. Supporting elements of the US government by providing defense program guidance, conducting multilateral negotiations with Alliance members, and providing specific activity reports and analysis to senior leadership. Scope of work areas: Multinational aspects of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) counter and nonproliferation, specifically: defense policy and capabilities development; civil-military cooperation, crises response and consequence management; information exchange; senior-level exercises and seminars; coordination with other international organizations such as the European Community (EU), INTERPOL and the UN; ballistic missile consequences of intercept; CBRN forensics and attribution, and building partnership capabilities. Representative work areas: •Research & Development Collaboration: Identification of key players and issues to promote collaboration between national and international organizations on areas of mutual interest in the field of CBRN technology. •CBRN Reach-back and fusion: consultations with Strategic Military Commands and NATO authorities on the political and operational considerations of establishing a NATO CBRN Reach-back capability. •Information sharing: negotiation amongst national and international agencies to promote the sharing of CBRN information in the NATO domain. •Threat Assessment: Directed activities for the creation of NATO threat assessment and vulnerabilities guidelines for civil authorities in Alliance nations. •CBRN Center-of-Excellence (CoE): negotiation with NATO and national officials to establish and use a CBRN modeling & simulation capability at the NATO CoE.
