Scott is a proven leader with 20-years’ experience providing strategic business intelligence and risk analysis to clients in the course of conducting investment due diligence, during commercial contests and other disputes, when entering new markets, and in seeking to advance their interests before government agencies. Global in outlook, Scott has led successful client engagements throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia. A native English-speaker, Scott is fluent in German and Spanish, and speaks elementary Mandarin. As Managing Director and China country-head for Alvarez & Marsal, the firm that is now winding down Lehman Brothers, Scott crafted the firm's market entry plan and launched the Shanghai office. In Shanghai Scott served as GM, charged with day-to-day management and P&L responsibilities, and he was named to a regional executive management team overseeing offices in Hong Kong and Singapore. With A&M, Scott led a practice group providing private equity and other investors with strategic and commercial due diligence services. Responsible for China business development efforts, Scott built key relationships with both western investors deploying capital in China, and with Chinese corporates making acquisitions abroad. Scot was awarded dual-MBA degrees from the Columbia Graduate School of Business and the London Business School (2004), where his studies focused on international finance, economics, and corporate governance. Scott holds s Masters degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics & Political Science (1994), where he graduated at the top of his class and was elected Deputy Editor, Millennium, Journal of International Relations. Scott earned his Bachelors degree earned at Cornell University (1989).
