Tom is an investment and strategy specialist with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa. He has run capital markets and businesses over 19 years in Africa. Experience includes General Manager of the Namibian Stock Exchange during a time of fast growth; a founder member of the Committee of SADC Stock Exchanges; investment banking and private equity; helping set up an innovative investment firm in Ethiopia; and working with fair trade and other companies on strategy and capital-raising. He advises on capital markets, private equity and investment strategy and is a freelance writer, analyst, journalist and speaker. He edits www.africancapitalmarketsnews.com and writes for a range of magazines. Qualifications include: Master in Business Leadership (equivalent to MBA, University of South Africa; MA Oxon (Literae Humaniores), Member of the Institute of Consulting, post graduate diploma in journalism and stock-broking qualification.
