I cut through the technical red tape to help clients create top-quality social learning professional development experiences for their employees, accelerating their speed to proficiency. I've made my career facilitating the effective incorporation of computer-based tools into the working and learning experience. Currently, I support adult learners and those who train them in corporate online communities of practice for informal social learning and in creating structured online social learning experiences. I'm also intimately involved in the development and testing of Q2's Learning System 6. I am an observer of the corporate training market and share my insights as a principal writer for Q2's blog at http://q2learning.com/blog. Past projects have included K-12 outreach programs for the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Illinois Board of Education, creating the first web port of the database of social services for Macon County, Illinois, teaching social workers how to use email, and training auto workers in robotics at the Chrysler Belvidere Assembly Plant. I'm a passionate devotee of the social constructivist theory of learning, who thinks Alan Cooper got it exactly right when he included the strong urge "not to look stupid" among the primary human needs. I help people use the computer to look (and be!) smart.
