I am working as Sr VP(Security & Vigilance) with Reliance Infrastructure. I have had a rich and varied experience of 34 years plus involving core activities of Security and Vigilance, Man- Management, Material& Equipment management, Administration and International Policing duties. Security & Vigilance: Served for 16 years plus in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) – A premier and only Central Police Organisation specialising in Industrial Security, from December 1988 to September 2005. Gained rich and varied experience in providing comprehensive Security Cover to Core Sector Industries like Mining, Zinc Smelters, Refineries, Heavy Engineering Plants, Fertiliser & Petrochemical Plants, Airports, Ports and Nuclear Plants. Joined Reliance Energy Limited, Mumbai – my present job as AVP (Security & Vigilance) wef September29, 2005. Promoted as Vice President & Sr. Vice President (Security & Vigilance) wef April 2008 & April 2010 respectively. Reliance Energy Limited had a rudimentary security set up, where none of the processes were defined. No access control system was in place and the entry/ exit was a free for all, when I took over this challenging assignment of putting the security processes in place. Job profile entails: • Providing safe and secure working environment to REL sites spread over 400 sq km in Mumbai suburbs. • Introduction of Access Control System in REL. Complete gadgetisation, setting up of Security Operations Control Room to monitor the security related functions of all sites spread over 400 sq Km ( Mumbai Discom). • Intimately involved in the designing State of Art Integrated Security System for the upcoming Reliance Global HQ and High Profile Residential structures . • Drafting, Preparation and Distribution of Security Manual – the SOP – Road map for Pan India Reliance Infra sites. • Technical Security Gadgetisation Survey for Pan India Reliance Infra sites (under construction Thermal Power Stations, Airports etc). Identifying the equipment for the Surveillance System, Access Control System and other Monitoring equipments. • Short- listing, selection and deployment of manpower from Security Agencies across REL sites. • Bringing in professionalism in the security set up of Reliance Energy Limited by recruiting professional security Managers. • Training of the security staff plus organizing mock drill exercises to sensitize the staff and the security personnel. My sincere efforts and professionalism has been acknowledged by The Reliance Energy Management by promoting me twice in under 5 years. Also, now I have been tasked to carry out Security Audit, Security Sensitivity Programs for all Reliance Energy Plants located in India. Presently, automation of the Access Control System, Introduction of Modern Gadgetry, on Pan – India basis for Reliance Energy Power Plants (under construction), has been entrusted to me. On promotion to the rank of Sr. Vice President (Security), I have now been given following additional responsibilities: • Setting up of Security Operations Control Room to integrate surveillance system of all sites of Mumbai Discom with advanced analytics. • Intimately involved in setting up state of art security gadgetisation for under construction Reliance Infra Global HQ at Santa Cruz, Mumbai. • Security survey of all new Reliance Infra Projects like UMPP and Airports on pan- India basis for all RADAG (Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group) companies. • Setting up a Security Training School – an experimental Pilot Project for the in – house consumption. Subsequently to open a full fledged Security Training Academy as a commercial venture. • Talent hunting for senior level functionaries to head the Security Deptt of new coming projects/ energy plants. • Written Book on Security functions, “Security – A Process & An Enabler”, for decision making level officers of RADAG. Also assigned the responsibility to write book on security functions covering distinctive security needs of upcoming businesses like Sea link, Metro, Hydel Project and Airports. Presently, I have been instrumental in designing an In-house Security Training School for imparting training to the security staff deployed at Reliance Energy sites across Mumbai. This is an experimental project – vision being to open a professionally run State of Art Security Training School, at par with the best with the global standards. Another new initiative has been personally taken by me, wherein, a holistic security survey of the new under construction projects is being carried out in terms of introduction of gadgetisation for the access control, surveillance, integration with the fire control system. Emphasis is on monitoring the construction activity, perimeter protection, Vehicle and Visitor Management System, RFID based tracking of men and material etc. International and National vendors of repute have been personally motivated by me to carry out this technical survey of the new projects free of cost.
