Cody Burke Vice President, Basex Inc. NYC, New York Masters of International Relations, Bond University Gold Coast, Australia I am interested in moving into the political risk management industry, and welcome any feedback, advice, or inquiries. My passion for current affairs and international politics began during my undergraduate studies in Political Science and continued throughout my graduate studies, culminating in a Masters of International Relations in 2007 from Bond University in Australia. During my studies I completed a thesis project detailing the need to understand the shifting global terrorism, security, and intelligence landscape in terms of networks, democratization of information access, and emergent and disruptive technologies. Additionally, I published a white paper on the potential and emergent use of open source intelligence and open source development methods. During the last ten years I have lived, studied, and worked in the U.K., Greece, Portugal, and Australia, as well as traveled throughout the U.S. and Mexico. Before my current position as an analyst and researcher, I worked as a professional chef both internationally and domestically. My background has contributed to a rich and dynamic set of skills and experiences, as well as a strong work ethic, positive attitude, love of learning, and ability to thrive in new and challenging environments. In my current role, I have had three years of extensive experience developing, conducting, and managing both short-term and ongoing research projects. The projects cover a wide range of areas including client-specific market research and competitive analysis, consulting, survey construction and analysis, report writing, development of case studies, software product reviews, analysis of pilot programs at major software companies, and marketing initiatives. Most recently, I have played a major supporting role in the development of a book project to be published by Wiley in the coming months.
