The Meta Xylene Price Trend recorded a strong upward movement across major Asian markets during Q2 2026. Prices increased as higher crude oil and naphtha feedstock costs raised production and import expenses.

At the same time, geopolitical tensions involving the USA, Israel, and Iran disrupted crude oil and naphtha-linked supply chains, creating additional uncertainty in the regional market. Japan registered the steepest quarterly increase, while India, Thailand, Malaysia, and China also experienced significant price appreciation during the quarter.

The Meta Xylene Price Index reflected this broad regional strengthening, with market values remaining supported by elevated feedstock costs and supply-chain disruptions. The upward movement continued into June, although the monthly increase varied across individual markets.

Meta Xylene Price Trend in Japan

Japan recorded the strongest increase in the Meta Xylene Price Trend among the markets covered in Q2 2026. Prices increased by approximately 27.6% during the quarter. Japan remained an important pricing origin for the Asian market, and higher crude oil and naphtha feedstock costs significantly influenced FOB Tokyo export values.

The increase was also supported by disruptions in crude and naphtha-linked supply chains caused by geopolitical uncertainty. Export prices climbed steadily through Q2 as suppliers faced higher input and logistics costs. In June 2026, Meta Xylene Prices in Japan increased by around 5.4%, indicating that the upward pressure remained present toward the end of the quarter.

The Japanese market therefore served as an important reference point for other Asian markets importing Meta Xylene from Japan.

Meta Xylene Imported Prices CIF Nhava Sheva from Japan

India experienced a significant increase in Meta Xylene Prices during Q2 2026. CIF Nhava Sheva prices for Japanese-origin material increased by approximately 25.4% compared with the previous quarter.

The Indian market was affected by the same combination of higher crude oil and naphtha feedstock costs and supply-chain uncertainty. Since India relies on imported material for a considerable portion of its requirements, movements in Japanese FOB prices directly influenced landed costs at Nhava Sheva.

Prices continued to increase during June, with the market recording a monthly rise of approximately 5.8%. Higher import costs and firm Japanese-origin values kept the Indian market on an upward trajectory through the end of the quarter.

Meta Xylene Imported Prices CIF Laem Chabang from Japan

Thailand's Meta Xylene Price Trend increased by approximately 22.6% in Q2 2026. CIF Laem Chabang prices for Japanese-origin Meta Xylene moved higher as Japanese FOB values increased and feedstock costs remained elevated.

The USA-Israel-Iran conflict also contributed to uncertainty across crude oil and naphtha-linked supply chains, increasing pressure on imported material. Thai buyers consequently faced higher landed costs during the quarter.

In June 2026, Meta Xylene Prices in Thailand increased by around 2.1%. Although the monthly rise was smaller than the quarterly increase, prices remained firm and continued to reflect elevated upstream costs.

Meta Xylene Imported Prices CIF Port Kelang from Japan

Malaysia recorded a quarterly increase of approximately 26.05% in Meta Xylene Prices during Q2 2026. CIF Port Kelang prices were influenced by higher Japanese-origin FOB values, increased crude oil and naphtha costs, and continuing supply-chain disruptions.

As Japan remained an important supply origin, changes in its export pricing were transmitted into the Malaysian import market. Higher feedstock expenses increased the cost base for producers and exporters, while uncertainty surrounding regional logistics added further pressure.

During June 2026, Malaysian Meta Xylene Prices increased by approximately 2.3%, keeping the market on an upward path through the final month of the quarter.

Meta Xylene Imported Prices CIF Shanghai from Japan

China's Meta Xylene Price Trend also strengthened considerably during Q2 2026. CIF Shanghai prices for Japanese-origin material increased by approximately 25.3% over the previous quarter.

The rise was primarily associated with higher crude oil and naphtha feedstock costs and disruptions affecting crude and naphtha-linked supply chains. Higher Japanese FOB prices contributed directly to increased import values in the Chinese market.

In June 2026, Meta Xylene Prices in China increased by around 4.4%. This continued monthly appreciation demonstrated that the market remained exposed to elevated feedstock and import costs toward the end of Q2.

Meta Xylene Price Chart

The Meta Xylene Price Chart for Q2 2026 shows a clear upward movement across all five markets covered in the analysis. Japan registered the highest quarterly increase at approximately 27.6%, followed by Malaysia at 26.05%, India at 25.4%, China at 25.3%, and Thailand at 22.6%.

The June data also showed continued positive movement. Japan increased by approximately 5.4%, India by 5.8%, Thailand by 2.1%, Malaysia by 2.3%, and China by 4.4%. The chart therefore highlights both the strong quarterly appreciation and the continued firmness seen during the final month of Q2 2026.

Meta Xylene Price Index

The Meta Xylene Price Index strengthened throughout Q2 2026 as upstream crude oil and naphtha costs increased. The index movement was further influenced by supply-chain disruptions and geopolitical uncertainty.

Japan's strong increase had a particularly important impact because Japanese-origin material was used as the pricing basis for several regional import markets. Consequently, increases in FOB Tokyo values were reflected in CIF pricing at Nhava Sheva, Laem Chabang, Port Kelang, and Shanghai.

Factors Influencing Meta Xylene Prices

Several factors shaped the Meta Xylene Price Trend during Q2 2026:

  • Higher crude oil costs: Meta Xylene pricing remained closely connected to movements in crude oil and related feedstock markets.
  • Rising naphtha costs: Increased naphtha feedstock expenses raised production and export costs.
  • Geopolitical tensions: The USA-Israel-Iran conflict created uncertainty in crude and naphtha-linked supply chains.
  • Supply-chain disruptions: Disruptions affected availability, transportation, and import costs across Asian markets.
  • Higher Japanese FOB values: Rising FOB Tokyo prices influenced several downstream Asian import markets.
  • Import cost pressure: Higher origin prices and logistics expenses increased CIF prices for buyers across the region.

Meta Xylene Price Forecast

The Meta Xylene Price Forecast will remain closely connected to crude oil and naphtha market movements, regional supply conditions, and geopolitical developments. If crude oil and naphtha prices remain elevated, Meta Xylene Prices could continue to face upward cost pressure.

Japanese export pricing will also remain important for Asian buyers because Japan was a major pricing origin for the markets covered. Any further supply-chain disruption or increase in transportation and feedstock costs could support prices, while improved supply conditions and lower upstream costs could reduce some of the pressure observed during Q2 2026.
