For importers seeking a balance between grain quality, cooking performance, and commercial practicality, 5% broken parboiled rice remains one of the most dependable options in the non-basmati category. It is widely traded for a reason: it offers a clean appearance, strong cooking structure, and value efficiency in bulk supply.

Parboiling improves the grain’s durability by hardening the rice before milling. This results in lower fragility during handling and transport, which is especially useful in export consignments. When paired with a 5% broken specification, the product maintains a more uniform look while still remaining commercially attractive for large-volume buyers.

This rice is often preferred in foodservice, distribution, and institutional channels where buyers need rice that performs well at scale. It cooks with better grain separation, handles holding time more effectively than many raw rice formats, and suits a wide range of regional meal applications.

Why many bulk buyers consider 5% broken parboiled rice:

  • Better grain stability in transport and storage
  • More consistent cooking output
  • Lower breakage compared to higher broken grades
  • Suitable for large kitchens and volume-led distribution
  • Practical balance between quality and pricing

For importers who want a dependable non-basmati rice option with broad commercial utility, 5% broken parboiled rice continues to be a smart and proven procurement choice.

The purpose is to get EUR place @ CB for LCR compliance purpose (no trading purposes). Bank's Management think that this should be considered as a trading position and therefore be classified within the Bank's trading book.…
