One of the things that has struck us is that, in the past, there has been a definite increase in the amount the banks are willing to expose. They have been more keen to talk openly about the amount of capital that they are holding for op risk after regulatory requirements.
However, this doesn't quite seem to be increasing so quickly this year. In fact, we are seeing the same banks disclosing information while many others continue to decline discussions.
Do you think there has been a mentality change on these issues?
Are there regions that are particularly slow to engage on these topics?
Why is that the case?
I would love to have a general discussion on these issues and any thoughts are more than welcome!
