How many days will it take to get a BIS certificate?

The time required to obtain a BIS certificate depends on the certification scheme and product category. For CRS registration under the Bureau of Indian Standards, it usually takes around 15 to 30 days after successful testing and application submission. For ISI certification, the timeline may extend to 3–6 months due to factory inspections and detailed verification. FMCS for foreign manufacturers can also take several months. Delays may occur if documents are incomplete or testing fails. Proper preparation and expert guidance can help speed up the process.

A question related to classification of instruments between trading and banking book.

We have an interesting question from one of our members.       "We usually perform OTC FX transactions with clients backed-to-back on the market (with Banks). Now we are going to perform a FX swap (i.e. Spot + forward) JPY/EUR for the Bank account for 1 week at the longest.
