Indian exporters can streamline their customs and foreign trade formalities by completing AD Code Registration ICEGATE UP for the relevant port. An Authorized Dealer Code links the exporter’s bank details with customs-related export transactions and is an important compliance step for businesses handling exports. The registration process requires accurate bank, IEC, and business information along with supporting documents. Agile Regulatory assists exporters with document preparation, application guidance, and ICEGATE-related formalities to make the process more organized. Whether you are a new exporter or an established business expanding operations, proper AD Code registration can help reduce procedural issues and support smoother export transactions from Uttar Pradesh.

  • AD Code Registration is an important compliance step for exporters in India who want to manage export shipments through customs and ICEGATE. An exporter generally needs to obtain an Authorised Dealer (AD) Code from the bank handling their foreign exchange transactions and complete the applicable registration formalities on ICEGATE.

Before submitting the request, exporters should ensure that their IEC, bank account and other business details are accurate and consistent. Keeping the bank documentation and export-related information ready can also help avoid unnecessary delays.

Businesses that are new to exports may consider professional assistance to understand the AD Code registration process and complete the required formalities correctly.

A question related to classification of instruments between trading and banking book.

We have an interesting question from one of our members.       "We usually perform OTC FX transactions with clients backed-to-back on the market (with Banks). Now we are going to perform a FX swap (i.e. Spot + forward) JPY/EUR for the Bank account for 1 week at the longest. The purpose is to get EUR place @ CB for LCR compliance purpose (no trading purposes). Bank's Management think that this should be considered as a trading position and therefore be classified within the Bank's trading book.…
