What is the role of SSIS in MSBI?

SSIS, or SQL Server Integration Services, plays a crucial role in Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) by handling data integration and transformation tasks. It acts as a bridge between different data sources and the central data warehouse or data mart. With SSIS, data can be extracted from diverse sources like databases, files, and web services, and then transformed according to specific requirements. It serves as a powerful ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tool, enabling the extraction of data from multiple sources, application of transformations such as data cleansing and aggregation, and loading of the transformed data into a centralized location. SSIS simplifies the process of integrating and transforming data, providing a visual development environment with pre-built tasks, connectors, and transformations. It ensures data consistency, quality, and performance during the ETL process, making it a vital component in the MSBI ecosystem.     Informative post. Thanks for sharing. SQL is used to communicate with a database. According to ANSI( American National norms Institute), it's the standard language for relational database operation systems. SQL statements are used to perform tasks similar as update data on a database, or recoup data from a database.

A question related to classification of instruments between trading and banking book.

We have an interesting question from one of our members.       "We usually perform OTC FX transactions with clients backed-to-back on the market (with Banks). Now we are going to perform a FX swap (i.e. Spot + forward) JPY/EUR for the Bank account for 1 week at the longest.
