I am delighted to join the Global Risk Community and hope to contribute from time-to-time when I have something sensible to share.
As a banking professional I have been disillusioned by how the profession has been hijacked by "global markets experts", forensic accountants and consultants who, through talk mainly centred on algorithms, value-at-risk and the market is always right, have ascended to the CEO of major financial institutions and proceeded to ruin their organisations and damage the profession as a whole. Without a doubt, in my mind, HR risk from the CEO downwards is the key risk to watch, because if we get that wrong inevitably it sets all the other risks running. I opine as risk professionals we need to bring HR risk to the forefront.
