The fault tolerance of SearchInform solution was enhanced: from now on it’s possible to make the backup and restore the system with all the configurations from archive without using any additional specific tools.
The capability to automatically archive server components’ databases, which are in charge of ensuring analytical component workability, management of system configuration, creating reports was implemented. The functionality is required for recovery of files in case of their damage, distortion, user mistakes or malicious software impact. For example, in case of failures in the hardware, SAN, in the DBMS or during an OS update, the system administrator will be able to restore the DLP system’s settings from the copy in just a few easy actions via the interface.
Usually, back ups are performed with the help of external tools, copied databases are composed manually. The new DLP system functionality minimizes these labor costs, the process is fully automatized. In addition, data can be unpacked quickly from archives, which makes it easy to restore the system performance.
Archiving of corporate databases enables to roll back system to working conditions in case of failures, and the archive of database with the gathered data enables to obtain the full picture of what’s actually happening in the organization without losses, even if the protective system has migrated to another infrastructure. Besides, database archiving helps to offload SQL-server resources what contributes to overall increasing of system’s performance. The required functionality for index (gathered data after parsing and analysis) and databases archiving and transmission to slower disks was also implemented, to ensure that only actual data is kept in hot storages. Finally, archiving concerns the most heavy storages – the ones, which keep shadow copies of files, transmitted to USB, via FTP protocol or, in case of integration, labelled by SearchInform FileAuditor - DCAP class solution.
