The new update requires that businesses be far more transparent about how they collect, use and disclose personally identifiable information (PII), including personally identifiable browsers, IP and online behavioral data.

If you conduct any business in California, you will need a mechanism that all consumers can use to submit requests to view their PII or opt-out of data selling. And, to protect your organization and ensure they understand this impact, all employees must be trained on the company’s responsibilities under the data privacy law and on how to handle consumer inquiries.
