Are You Prepared to Comply by January 1, 2020?
Beginning in the new year, updates to the California Consumer Privacy Act may possibly impact your business. The new regulations effect all companies that conduct business in California, not just those physically located in the state.
Important Info:
CCPA broadly expands the rights of California consumers. The new update requires that businesses be far more transparent about how they collect, use and disclose personally identifiable information (PII), including personally identifiable browsers, IP and online behavioral data.
If you conduct any business in California, you will need a mechanism that all consumers can use to submit requests to view their PII or opt-out of data selling. And, to protect your organization and ensure they understand this impact, all employees must be trained on the company’s responsibilities under the data privacy law and on how to handle consumer inquiries.
There isn’t much time to comply, so determine whether your business will be impacted and take action now.
