OVERVIEW

Managing conflict helps to minimize the potential negative outcomes that can arise from disagreements in the workplace. Relationships can be maintained and more can be accomplished when you are able to manage conflict effectively.  This program provides the skills that can be used and different conflict-resolution styles and problem-solving techniques.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Participants will be able to demonstrate different methods of solving conflicts
  • Participants will be able to describe what behaviors are destructive in handling conflict
  • Participants will be able to demonstrate paraphrasing
  • Participants will be able to write an example of behavioral feedback
  • Participants will be able to describe different conflict resolution styles
  • Participants will be able to create a Conflict Resolution Plan

Areas to be covered include:  How to describe feelings, How to manage your triggers, How to listen, When conflict can be constructive, Aggressive vs Assertive and Passive Behavior, Thomas Kilmann Conflict Model, and providing constructive feedback
