This session is designed to provide best practices on how to transition from a peer to a boss effectively. In this session, we will discuss some of the challenges that you may face while transitioning to a boss and while supervising coworkers you used to work with. We will also discover the steps needed to gain respect in the new role of supervisory.

 


In this session participants will learn the following:

  • How to balance and manage the relationships with previous co-workers?
  • How to gain respect with previous co-workers?
  • How to set performance expectations?
  • The Dos and Don’ts of an effective supervisor

Participants will walk away understanding the following:

  • How to develop communication skills being a supervisor?
  • How to set performance expectations?
  • How to discipline when needed?
  • How to manage a team of previous co-workers?
  • How to conduct effective meetings?
  • How and when to delegate?
  • How to motivate employees?
  • How to make a decision?

This session is for newly promoted supervisors, who have the responsibility of supervising co-workers, wanting to gain respect as a supervisor, want to build a different relationship among co-workers, and want to lead as an example.
