This workshop will provide delegates with a comprehensive understanding of the concept of risk appetite and its effective use within financial institutions. In so doing the workshop will explore the following areas:

  • The definition of risk appetite
  • The role of the concept and the benefits associated with expressing and articulating your institution’s appetite for risk
  • Methods for expressing risk appetite within your institution
  • Good practice in relation to establishing, maintaining and implementing an effective risk appetite framework
  • Avoiding the potential perils and pitfalls that can be associated with using the concept
  • Current regulatory requirements on risk appetite and other good practice standards that relate to the concept (e.g. BS3110)
