The finanical and general media inevaitbaly focus on failiures - do these sell more newspapers (a separate question perhaps) ? In addition, as a profession risk managers are always feeling the need to 'justify' their existence, and the effort and expense to put in place risk management systems and processes.
It is therefore encourageing to see a 'good news' story about the improvement in airine safety - in this case in the US. With credit given to those involved in working hard over a long period to reduce the 'risk' of accidents.
