    Risk management in Uganda is still in the infancy stage. The main drivers of of risk management are currently the Central Bank which has required all financial institutions under its watchful eye to set up frameworks. Support from the private sector is still very low though the trend might change soon when the economies of the EAC merge. In the public sector, progress is still very slow. The challenge right now is absence of a body or consulting company that can provide these services to the sectors at a cheaper fee.
    What the country needs right now is awareness of risk management. Once the idea is sold across businesses, these consulting firms can start asking the exobitant fees. But right now, we need a subsdised body to spear head the selling of the necessity of Risk management.

Political Risk In Uganda

Many Institutional Board rooms could be concerned about our country's political risk. In view of the precedence, i would but not so much that i can miss my sleep over night. However, when you look at the trends in African countries  and particularly the events in Kampala of recent including the Mabira, the Masiro and Kayunga incidents, you may get awake in the middle of the night. What is your rating of Uganda's political risk and what are the best control options?
