  • According to Ms. Trexler Smith, today's global corporations simply aren't doing enough to ensure that third-party vendors, distributors, sales agents, and other business partners have adequate compliance mechanisms in place. Under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the UK Bribery Act, and a number of other major anti-corruption statutes, a business partner's corrupt acts can be considered your own. As a result, companies need to perform rigorous due diligence before entering into such relationships and continue those efforts on an ongoing basis.

As a compliance professional who specializes in helping companies fully-understand the scope of the corruption risks they face, Ms. Trexler Smith shared the above insights with Bulletproof™.
