The general availability of information technologies and a significant change in our attitude to their presence allowed the rapid development of the Internet of things. During the last ten years, IoT has managed to penetrate almost all the spheres of our life. Lately, it feels like “resilience” has popped up as the answer to just about everything. Having a hard time because of a toxic environment? Just be resilient. Struggling to home-school your kids while working 50-hour weeks during a global pandemic? Try some resilience.

The workshop is over. The hard work is done. The Chair, CEO or team leader has taken you aside and thanked you for such an enlightening workshop. Job done!

No, it’s not.

The last thing you need to do is make sure you are helping the team with sensemaking, not nonsense making. The key is a reality-check with the team with the team post the workshop. Not straight after, at least a day, if not a week. Let memories wane a little and then revisit the outcomes and ask a few questions:

Don’t Vacillate

The more prepared you are the better you will facilitate. The less likely you will vacillate at a difficult moment.

  • To stimulate critical and creative thinking. I need to unlock their minds.
  • To be an advocate for everyone in the room. I will protect and promote.

In doing so you will encounter tense momen
